Have you found that it is not quite cost-efficient to watch on-line video with a tablet? Well this guide tells ya how to get your DVD movies onto HP TouchPad on Mac OS X Lion- by ripping and converting them to Touch Pad preferable formats. Here we go.


What you need to put a DVD onto HP TouchPad:

A DVD

A Windows PC or Mac

A DVD Ripper app- I'm now running Mac OS X Lion, so I choose the Pavtube DVD Ripper for Mac OS X Lion - Best Mac OS X Lion DVD Ripper.

Workflow- converting DVD to HP TouchPad supported video formats.

Step 1. Load DVD movies to Blu-ray Ripper for Mac. Click "Load BD/DVD" to load protected DVD movie from DVD.

Step 2. Check the main movie, which has longest duration. Uncheck all other chapters which are menus, ads and extras.

Step 3. Set audio and subtitles language for each DVD from "Subtitles" and "Audio" box.

Step 4. Select a format that is compatible with HP TouchPad. With Pavtube DVD Ripper for Mac OS X Lion, I select "Common Video > H.264 Video (*.mp4)" format. The specs of TouchPad stated it support H.263, H.264 and MPEG-4 video.


Step 5. Click "Convert" to start converting DVD for HP TouchPad. By default the app derives aspect ratio from the movie there's no need to worry about stretched images you may have with other apps.

Note: Keep your Mac networked so that the DVD Ripper for Mac Lion can access keys for Workflow - Transfer movies from Mac OS X Lion to HP TouchPad.


Step 1. Connect HP TouchPad to Mac Lion with the USB cable.

Step 2. On your TouchPad, tap USB Drive.

Step 3. On your Mac, locate and double-click the removable drive named for your TouchPad. You should find HP TouchPad on the desktop. If not, open Finder to locate the tab.

Step 4. Now the TouchPad appears as a removable USB drive and you just drag and drop the converted DVD movies to the movie directly.
