LG's next Prada is an Android powerhouse

From details published first at Pocketnow.com, it seems as though the flagship model will be the latest in LG's long-running partnership with fashion label Prada. The Prada K1 will add Android Gingerbread to a combination of the best parts of LG's first-half Android smartphones, with a 4.3-inch Nova display, 8-megapixel camera, 16GB of internal storage and 21Mbps HSPA data connectivity. You can also expect a pretty sexy chassis to go along with the Prada nametag, with the whole handset measuring only 8.8mm thick. If you've been spec watching throughout the year, you'll know that these specs basically match the Samsung Galaxy S II piece by piece.

The Prada K1 will apparently be accompanied by a small army of lower-spec devices, including the single-core, 1GHz-powered LG Victor, which will include a 3.8-inch OLED display, according to the rumour. This would be a remarkable entrant in the smartphone market, given that OLED screens are so scarce and expensive. We're not sure whether LG will use the same AMOLED variant of this technology, or whether it has conjured up something unique of its own.

There is also a solid Windows Phone model in the mix, called Fantasy, with a wide-looking display (based on the computer renders). Though we can't say for sure, the proportions of the screen in this image suggests a 4.3-inch display, similar to the HTC HD7. LG will also release a couple of entry-level smartphones running Android Gingerbread, building on the success that it has had, so far, with the sub-AU$300 smartphone segment.
