I don't understand why Facebook is number one in that picture. That fact that it suffers from so many bugs. Example: I disable all facebook notifications��yet get notified with a push every time someone leaves a comment. Or the app refuses to upload pics, so I have to delete the app and re-download it. blu ray to mp4 No �� the controls are not the same as a console. Not necessarily bad (though �� personal opinion �� it is in this case), just different. I find:1) Touch controls are better for turn based games, especially strategy games. Civilization Revolution is an example of game which just plays better on the i(Phone}Pad) than on a console. Yes, the console versions look better, but the iOS version plays better �� selecting units and actions is faster, more immediate, and just plain easier with touch than with using a stick/d-pad to move, than a button to choose, then the stick/d-pad to scroll through options.2) Physical controls are better for fast paced and twitch games. On the iPhone/iPad, you have the problem of obscuring the game space with fingers, plus you have to devote some of your visual attention to keeping your fingers in the correct area of the screen. (You do not have the first problem when viewing on a TV screen, but the second problem is much, much worse.) On a turn-based game, this is no drawback at all, but in a fast game, the delay on each action ranges from frustrating to fatal. Using a physical controller, you can focus all your visual attention on the gameplay, and your proprioception will keep your fingers on the buttons automatically, letting you do nothing but play.So, to each his own �� I think using iOS devices as multitouch controllers for console-style action games is a very poor experience, but they absolutely shine for strategy games. I shudder to think how many people will AirPlay Farmville once it becomes possible.
